    Restoring Sport Seats

Need to refinish the tilt mechanism and frame on a set of sport seats. The black paint is worn off with slight surface rust as many get. Any suggestions on what paint could be used to properly duplicate the black finish?
    Thanks.

I did mine with semi-gloss powdercoat - they look teriffic and have held up very well, despite lap belts occasionally whacking them.

Powder coat is good too, about a 10-20% gloss only works good. They must be disassembled and striped, dipped, and totally clean prior to coating. Paint is good for a quicky.

I recently restored my sport seat frames. I had the frames blasted and powder coated and the runners re-zinc plated along with all the original bolts. They look great. Just as a side note the frame hinges are a 356 part and still available and I am also told that the rubber/plastic pads that the upper frames sits on are also 356 parts.

I will try and get a picture

I was checking out Stoddard's site last night and saw these made for seats from '65 to '67. I wonder if they would work?
