Thread: 911R/906/911S dyno sheets - anyone have one?

911R/906/911S dyno sheets - anyone have one?

I'd like to know if anyone has access to 2.0S and/or 906/911R dyno sheets. I am looking to do a comparison of the 906/911R and the 2.0S torque curves.

This is all of the data I have:
    906/911R peak torque: 152 lb/ft @ 6200 RPM
    '69 911S peak torque: 134 lb/ft @ 5500 RPM

As you can see, the 906 cammed motor makes 18 lb/ft more than the 'S', albeit at 700 RPM higher.

What I want to do is check the crossover point of the two torque curves, specifically to see at what point in the rev range the 906 cammed motor makes equal torque to the 911S at peak and to see if at any point the 906 motor produces less torque than the 911S.

I know it's a tall order, but you guys don't seem to be able to disappoint!

I have a pair of 906 cams if you decide to go that way. In our 2.8 the 906's came alive at 4500 rpm and pulled to 7500 +, hitting 8,000 rpm a few times.

    Kenikh,
    This may help.

    Motor Typ 901/20 = 906, Carrera 6
    Typ 901/22 = 911R
    Typ 901/02 = 911S 2 ltr.

WOW. On first blush, this looks like exactly what I was looking for! Where did you get this data: book, personal dyno runs, web?
    Awesome stuff.

Alrighty; this is going to take more work to do the overlays I wanted, but I now have the data I need. I think plugging these into Excel will be the best way. At least the torque measurements use the same units. PS and HP are very close, so I will treat them as 1:1, as well. I tired overlaying them in an imaging program, but the layouts are too different to make it worth my time.

    Stay tuned!

    Found one more,

Typ 901/21 = 910, this engine is with slide valve intake and mechainical injection. may be same type as used in the 906E ? All 3 use same cam, but R, and 906 use 46 IDA carbs.

Cool; I'll add it to the curve table I'm building.

I'd absolutely love to have these curves done in Excel... I analyze stuff for a living, so this would be fun.

Now a question: why do the higher strung motors have no numbers below ~4000 RPM? Was that the necessary idle for them to run? Was the low RPM running too rough due to reversion to get a good reading? Enquiring minds want to know...
