    Dave,

We are agreed, that is the weekend. So far we have the following going. If this is not correct let me know.

    Myself (maybe Margaret)
    Jim and Charlie
    Randy and Barb
    Larry and Judy
    Dave and Melissa
    Curt
    Jared
    Dwight (Scargo) and maybe spouse
    Ron

Nine rooms so far. Should be fun.

Hmmmm - and here I thought that title went to Ferndale?? They'd probably have great restaurants and shops then... eh??

TKO - c'mon out man! I'm sure we could rustle up a car for you to drive.
Aren't you getting tired of that dusty/brown/schmoggy So Cal landscape by now??

I'm good that weekend - and up for any drive.
May have a co-pilot... but not sure yet (either way, one room).

"....great restaurants and shops then... eh??"

Yup! A funny story: early last spring, a couple of friends and I sailed a boat from Saugatuck down to Michigan City, Indiana. Pretty much no wind, extremely cold and it wound up being a 15 hour sail! We then drove back up to Saugatuck and pulled in at about 3 in the morning. My buddy and I drag our sorry a$$es into a local motel and there's an Arab guy working the desk. They've got a big sign up saying "Lover's Special - heart-shape bed, hot tub, champagne, etc. - $79.95". So my buddy says, "I guess we'll take the Lover's Special". The desk clerk isn't phased at all and just says 'credit card please'. I about lost it right there

    I don't remember, but that rotating heart-shaped bed .....

I may be able to do a partial recon-mission Thurs/Fri. I'll be in the UP and Northern Mich on business. I'm going to try to buzz over to the Glen Lake and Interlochen areas. I know there're several nice roads in thru there. But I also want to check out some potential stopping/shopping areas for the girls .... That late in the season, I want to see what's still up and running in some of the little resort towns. I'm also thinking darkness will be upon us at 6:30 or so by the end of Oct.

    Curt,

Your right...it's very depressing. That's OK though, we can just roll out at 0500, clean off the dew (call it a wash job), and hit the road at first light
I never travel without a 12 cup coffee maker and high test beans, so we can all get a caffeine kick-start; it'll make us all look like this:

Fortunately we won't have to deal with the time change because it is the weekend after this.

Here is a link to the Muskegon County Convention and Vistors Bureau for accommodations in west central MI. Anybody spot a place on the list we should check out?

Here is a link to Grand Haven also, which is really close to Muskegon.
