No promises, but I have been a snail mail pen pal with a PLAYBOY cartoonist for years. Next letter I write, I'll ask him if he could photocopy the interview...I know he has a collection of PLAYBOYS..every issue. No, he doesn't want to sell #1. So, if I get the copies, who'd be willing to scan? Is it really that important?

I'd be interested in seeing a copy of it, especialliy if he is sharing details about the work behind the filming of Lemans.

If you want a copy, there are over a dozen available on eBay as we speak...

Does anyone know if this slate grey movie car is the one that is currently displayed at the Peterson Auto Museum in Los Angeles right now? If so anyone seen it? Can we look closely at it to see the details?

Thanks for refreshing my memory, Randy. I just retrieved the issue of "The Esses" you mention, have it on my lap. I quote from page 4: "New member Eric Bryant is the proud and fortunate owner of a charcoal gray 1970 911S originally purchased by Steve McQueen and used in the opening sequence of the movie 'Lemans'. Eric's father bought it from Solar Productions in 1971." Cris, if you're following this thread, Eric Bryant's phone and e-mail are on page 20 of the same issue...

I thought this was the car at Peterson, not the 69 his son now has. This movie car was gifted to Steve at the time of production.

That kind of defeats the purpose. The idea is having someone who already has the article simply scan it so the rest of us don't have to pay the $$$ for the whole issue. Although buying an old issue of Playboy might be interesting. I bought an entire set of the 1967 Christophorous and it makes for great reading, as well as the pictures of BRAND NEW 1967 911's!!!

FWIW, a snail mail letter to my friend leaves here today. He's even more of a curmedgeon than I...won't allow a computer in his house. So, figure a week, minimum...anybody here have a scanner, willing to post the interview for all?

I do, but I am in Europe. By the time it gets here, the world series could be over...
