Or longer...a few days ago our mailbox contained a Christmas card from Evren & Ruki in Istanbul. It was postmarked December 15th, 2004. International snail mail...when it absolutely, positively must be there...in oh, 8-9 months or so! Still, if nobody stateside volunteers, why not? Postage to you isn't all that expemsive...I think 80 cents to most places on the planet.

"Do you know the names of the differents villages where S. MacQueen came through when he arrived to the track ?"

I haven't been there in forever, but it looks a lot like Chartres. Its not far from Le Mans.

Well, there was time spent in Paris ..... McQueen's joke to the French being something along the lines of 'Do you know why there are so many trees on the Champs-Elysees? ....................................... because the Germans liked to march in the shade'.

There was also alot of time spent at the Chateau Segrais (1/2 hour from LeMans). It was a retirement home quickly converted to a luxury hotel for the LeMans staff. Steve lived at the Chateau Lornay, just outside Loue'.

thanks so much for all the help and info guys, I emailed a few pics to the Automobile Club de L'Ouest who run Le Mans, and they pinpointed exactly where McQueens car was on the road and the locations now, so going there this weekend with 4 early cars. Should be a good trip.
    cheers, Mike

    Green Tagging?
