Do any of you have opinions on this bike? It will be my first motorcycle and I'm not a very experienced rider. I love the way it looks but have never ridden it. I'm not interested in a really fast crotch rocket type bike or a harley cruiser type. Just looking for something that looks cool and would be fun to tool around in and occasionally take into the canyons.
The Monster is a great bike...get some loud Termi or Arrow pipes and go ride!

It is actully a decent first bike...my wifes first actually. She still preferes the monster over other bikes. She has a Monster 900 dark. The 600 would be a perfect first...although what one must remember is that all bikes go down...and the first one is the most likely. A monster has less body stuff to deal with v. a full faired italian beauty.

600 Monsters are a hoot to ride. Can't overpower the back tire very easily. Very flickable and light. I like small cc bike for beginners because HP will get you into more trouble than it can get you out of. Besides that, while the Monster is NOT slow, it is more fun to ride a slow bike fast than a fast bike slow. Goes for cars too!

I have a friend who owned a Monster...she loved it more than the other bikes she'd had over the years including some really big stuff. Not quite sure why she ever sold it - something about being 45 and trying to be a responsible (pedestrian type) mum. Probably more cos she cracked it with her hubby who was never off it even though he had a Beull for sunny days...
Would be my first choice if I could find the time to ride...
