Just turned on the B-J auction. A fake 'recreation' 69 Yenko Camaro just sold for $80,000 (with fees and commissions). Are these bidders insane? It's a FAKE and was advertised as such!

It's the ultimate reality show. Car afficiandos from all the world sit, watch and SCREAM at their television sets. I had to turn it off after a Pontiac Sunfire "Concept Car" modified by Van Halen's bassist sold for $80,000.
But that did include an autographed bass.
Craig Jackson could be the shrewdest self-promoter since PT Barnum.

When the '69 Z-28 popped $205,000 I knew the end was near. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.
Are the bidders on drugs are do they sell drugs? That could settle at least one question I have.

The cars are the drug. Craig Jackson is the pusher. And the bidders are the helpless crackwhores laying in the alley.
Watching all day and the McQeen 917 comes up during a commercial. go figure

It's hard to believe these guys are using real USDs. I watched pretty much the entire show today and it was even more absurd than last year. Over four million bucks for a bus! It truely is bizzare.
The end is near (thats what I said last year though)

I saw that too, bizzare & a waste of $$$. It was as if the girlfriend & all his buddies were egging him on....he got lucky though & lost the bid to the other bozo !Originally Posted by fryardds
Must be nice to get paid off of RETAIL ! 8% is a nice cut for the auction, they don't care what the car is worth.
I love how when a car gets within $300K of a million, they start working the crowd, like its some sort of sporting event!
Seeing these prices sure makes an early S a bargain at $50-100K

I went to BJ last year and that's exactly what it reminded me of - a sporting event. Or more precisely, the World Wrestling Federation. There are grandstands full of people hooting and hollaring all day long. The more you overpay for a car, the bigger celebrity you become .... it's the Bizzaro world.
I thought Seinfeld owns the McQueen 917???
