    Original Weber Fuel Lines

    Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have obtained the correct fuel line and end caps for the Webers on my '66 normal. Would anyone with these original caps be kind enough to post a photo of the banjo bolt area? I'm trying to decide if there is a crimp, and if so, what type.

    Thank you in advance.

As I remember, no crimp, just Norma hose clamps.

The crimped fitting would look a lot cleaner, if not to factory specs (if that matters).

    Weber hose ends

Hello: The original Weber hose ends are crimped using the steel sleeve you have. I will check to see how many flats are on the sleeves for the crimp. You may want to use hose clamps since they are easier to tighten when they leak and they will leak. Thanks Eric

I'll defer to Eric's knowledgebase. It's been awhile since my Weber hoses were intact.

99% of those fuel line connections have been replaced due to their age. They were crimped at the factory. I saw the tool that was used while visiting a shop in Germany. You have to cut though those original crimpings with a hacksaw carefully. Then your only choice is a Norma clamp as Sherwood said. Scott Hendry's shop in Anaheim told me they can do the oil lines, big and small. I would think they could do the fuel lines also, as they are about the same size as the cam housing oil feed lines.

    Rick,

Scott Hendry, does he run a business called Carrera Six?

So I did some research and dug into my photo library. The fittings originally used by Porsche probably came from Cohline. There is a six-sided crimper that will put the correct hex crimp on, and Carrera Six has one. I would buy one but they are VERY expensive. There should be eleven fittings, three each over by the banjos, two where the lines to the carbs join the hardline, one on the end of the hardline, one on that hose at the fuel pump banjo and one on the hose at the other fuel pump banjo. The only clamp I believe is used for the line that goes into the body.

Rick, for your Solex project the ferrules are different, longer. Send me a PM with your email and I'll email you some high-resolution pics of Alois Ruf's 911 with some absolutely eye-popping plumbing.

    Thanks John,
No, not Carrera Six, It's Scott's Independant. I'll get a # and post it.
How much is very expensive? Are they available in the states, or a Euro thing?
Please post the Ruf pics. I know the car. I was there last December and he had the 3 of us that were there critique what wasn't 100% on the car. I only took outside pics of the car. I also met the master craftsman who did the car.
