    Kardex Question: Velour Floor Mats

I just received my Certificate of Authenticity for my '66 911 Normal. One of the options listed is "velour floor mats."

Does that mean velour carpeting, or velour floor mats in addition to the regular carpeting?

Also, no radio is listed. If a radio were fitted, would it be listed?

Thank you in advance to those of you with two-page options lists! Mine is a scant three lines.

    Any help here?

The original carpets in the car were Velour, including velour floor mats. This is a contrast from Perlon with rubber mats. But I guess it would be strange to have perlon carpets with velour mats.

I assume "velour floor mats" means everything is velour.

I'm not so sure about that as I have a 67 normal with rubber mats and velour floor mats. I don't know if they are origianl or what my kardex might say... never thought about it ?

Ahhhh the sixties... I envision myself one early Saturday morning wearing plaid shorts, black shoes with white socks smoking a cigarette heading to the hardware store to buy a bag of nails.
SWB cars are an acquired taste however once acquired theirs no turning back.

    Kardex Question: Velour Floor Mats

John, Joe, maybe I'm dead wrong here, but didn't 66 's have only rubber mats? or was full floor carpeting an option? John, as to your radio question, I know there were circumstances (seen it on a 68 L) where the car was factory equipped with antenna and necessary ground straps and condensers on ignition for a radio, but not delivered with one. I suppose for either dealer or customer install.

Ed, I read Brett Johnson last night, he says the cars were delivered with velour carpets and rubber mats, with "velour floor mats" as an option.

That is consistent with what I found in the car-- velour carpeting installed (with tacks, nice touch by the factory!) and heavy velour floor mats both sides.

Perlon didn't come in until '67 so that rules it out, I'm going with Velour all around.
