    Marelli Twin plug distributor etc

I need help in identifying what is supposed to be a Marelli Twin plug distributor, twin plug cap, rotor and NOS lead holders.

I have seen other pics of Marelli distributors from the late 60's but nothing quite like this one.

I wish to sell the unit but don't want to misrepresent it in nay way so I need help.

For sure the cap is original Marelli as its stamped on it but there are no Marelli markings of any sort on the distributor although all the special slots in the cap line up perfectly on the top of the distributor. It may have had a Marelli decal which no longer exists.

It looks like a Ferarri body with a custom bottom. or a stock bottom for a different application. Very odd.. I'll try to find some pics. It has a twin plug rotor installed but how many lobes does the shaft have? Three for a six cylinder twin plug and six for a 12 cylinder single plug. Also the dizzy gear does not look like a Porsche. Maserati perhaps?

that is what i am thinking too; twin plug maserati six cylinder. the caps and rotors are what were supplied to porsche - same parts there.
As with most anything , with enough machining and some aluminum/ steel, one could make this into a porsche application

If the unit runs twin points and twin condensors does that not mean it should have 6 lobes for a 6 cylinder? (remember I am mechanically deficient)

I am pretty sure that 6 lobe shaft is a 12 cylinder application. The 911 R/RSR lobe uses a 3 lobe. I would ebay the cap and rotor for crazy money on E-bay and sell the dizzy once you are sure of its application. There were not many cars that used such a unit. I have seen Ferarri dizzys go for $500.00 to $600.00. Hope this helps.
