Who wants some SWB big brakes?

Just have finished a set of rear adaptors for my SWB trailing arm to accept Carrera or SC rear brake calipers (not the easiest of tasks). I can now fit not only the big 42mm pistoned rear Carrera caliper, but the wide Carrera rear rotor as well. Wondering if there is much interest here for more to be fabricated as my fab. guy is willing to make some more. With this set-up along with SC or Carrera front suspention and brakes the thermal reserve will be awesome...!!! With the much lighter weight, should be simillar to the thermal reserve of turbo brakes on the later cars. The cost should be fairly low ($300 or less) and made out of stainless... It is also completely reversable.

I will have a few photos later. I would like to see replys of those with some serious interest.

    Cheers,
    Michael

I would also be interested, if the price is not too far out.

Carrera brakes fit fine under 15" wheels. What happens with the E-brake, though, Michael?

    Tom,

The E brake is retained using later shoes...

And yes, they will fit under 15" rims...no problem there.

I will get some photos soon.

    Cheers,
    Michael

    prototype photo for you.

This is a proto photo of the system. The final product will be either waterjet or laser cut for a more finished look -- so this will just give you a rough idea of attachment and looks. These are in SS, and depending on the price point after quotes they will either be in SS or yellow cad plated steel. Either way they will look great, work great and give loads more thermal reserve. This system will retain the stock E brake, use Carrera or A type calipers and rotors.
