    Techno Classica show in Essen

    Hi everyone,

I am fortunate to be visitng the Essen classic car show. I have been told its a show not to miss but its almost overwhelming.

Have met up with Stefan from GTS Classics who is showing his seats and I also met Platas (Santiago) last night and talked for hours.

I hear there may be some other eaarly S guys here too. Does anyone know who might be attending the show ?

Have attached a pic of an RS originally built for Peter Porsche. its an original factory 2.9 engine plus a few other "special bits".

Will post more pics once I am home.

    Phil,

Thanks for sharing the photo of Peter Porsche's RS. According to the Carrera RS it is chassis # 1357. Here is a description of the car:

"The 1357 is interesting from a technical standpoint because of the its combination of a 2.9L experimental engine and a four speed Sportmatic transmission. The rear spoiler and the model number on the engine lid were omitted from this car.
Paint: a special red tone by Glasurit from the both the shell and rims. (Paint code 68-FP 3249/71.)
Interior: furnished throughout in black, natural napa leather."

I think it is interesting that it was shown with a ducktail instead of a standard rear lid like it was originally. The Sportmatic is also interesting.

Hmmm... that picture may explain why in a previous owner's hands, Peter Porsche liked my car so much at a Porsche Parade (and autographed my owner's manual).
