    Long block/short block

I see the expression "long block" and "short block" being used. Do this refer to 6 cyl. and 4 cyl. engines?

    Dear Lord,

It's not about 4 or 6 cyl but how complete the engine is. A short block is basically just the bottom end w/o carbs, fan, dizzy, exhaust, etc.

A long block would not nessarily have dizzy, carbs, fan etc but would have heads, cams, valvetrain.
