I also call BS on this one
There was a #1014 in Monaco sold in 2014 after it had an extensive renovation. It had a number of visual differences to this car most notably it had a single bolt yellow fan strap which would be correct for an April built car rather than the two bolt black one on this car. Also the Monaco one had 33868 kilometers showing on its odometer rather than the 18144 showing on this one
In addition the Monaco one did not have a glove box lid, and had stock pedals and steering wheel although they are easily changed.

This one looks like a car purporting to be #1014 that was for sale in the USA at "High Marques" in 2016 which had the same steering wheel and 18091 on the odo (as well as wrong fan strap, wrong pedals etc)
there was another car being sold as #1014 in Germany at the time and it also did not look correct for a number of reasons

I also have a note that the one that was for sale in the USA was "ex Brubakers"

so I guess there are at least three "#1014's" around

No links to the car or auction. Since I have an RSR I am always interested in the RS, and RS Lightweights . Also the London auction had a 356A GS 4-cam coupe for sale and I have a 1957 GS/GT lightweight coupe for sale, so I was interested in that one also. So I called RM yesterday and got the prices.

Blimey Mike I knew about your RSR but not about the GS/GT - you might want to connect with Fred H of the 356 Registry in the UK he has a good spectrum of friends worldwide who may give you a insight into the going rate on this beauty... I can give you a email address if you cannot find his details on the PCGB website ..

Was at Goodwood yesterday and had a look at 963...not exactly a pretty car!! So many wrong details in the engine bay and in the front area!! And that is what one can easily see...imagine when starting to dig deeper! I guess it's a perfect candidate for a full restoration even tho some expressed some concern about the first two numbers stamped on the engine.

It will require a lot more due diligence in case one was interested.

As always...there is a reason for everything!!
