These last ones are all outstanding cars, but I can't help but think that #1248 (the one upgraded by RUF in the eighties) in comparison sold really cheap at BAT last week.
I figured its RUF history would add value, not detract.
Most all of these cars have undergone much work to bring them up to "as new" or best standards. How are they any more original than the RUF modded car. I've never rally understood the "matching numbers" idea, it is just the final stamping on an item made in an assembly line, not a one off piece of art. Without the number, indistinguishable from any other engine made on the same assembly line.
