No blue was for video purposes. JKs own Touring was different colour.

Steve, The car in the video is an original Dalmation Blue car, not painted for video purposes. I nearly bought this from my neighbour Mark around 15 years ago. JK bought it, brokered by Autofarm for around 80k back then. Crystal ball and all that.

Dave we are at cross purposes.

I was trying to say my friend owns today what I think is a different M472 Touring to the blue one used in the video. Based on what he told me the car he owns was previously JKs property. Not the blue car used in the video despite the timing of video and his own car now with my friend both being darkish hue RS examples potentially causing confusion.

Not really my place to go into details about my friends ex JK owned touring on an open web forum and probably shouldn't have made the aside. I was just pointing out they JK had other RS beyond the M471 Sport

I wouldn't profess to know about the blue one used in the video. You seem to know that one's back story so unless I'm mistaken the blue one and my friends car are different Tourings both with that might have JK and or Jamiroqai links ?

I ran into JK on the paddock on Malaysia the year F1 was rained off about a decade ago. Some time before he had spent a long time with us on the Lotus stand at a motorshow for a some launch when I worked there and later we'd loaned him a demo Esprit. I think he enjoyed entertaining the attractive PR ladies we had helping on the stand and they were quite aflutter with him hanging out too . We briefly discussed that Esprit loan ( it was brought back hard used and he recalled having fun with it ! ) as well as the coincidence of both owning RS when in the paddock... but not to point of sharing vin numbers. Got an invite to the after race show he was doing. Seemed a nice laid back and enthusiast but barely know him obviously.

    Steve,

does your friend own his old Aubergine Touring. I have a friend who's accountant owned that one. Now that one's a whole different story.

Dave see para 3 of my previous post .. obviously I've been around these RS cars for quarter of a century and aware of rumours like the one you allude to; maybe spoken direct to the friend with the accountant which shouldn't be a surprise if you recall the old Porsche addict social centre / 'shop where used to spend time hanging and helping my great pal with old 911s

Often interesting hear the presumptions from owners who didn't always appreciate the encyclopedic knowledge my old pal had about these car's real backstory often stretching back to starting a Porsche specialist business in 74! Fascinating to hear the real story later one one as we spannered on stuff. And from the cast of characters passing through some of whom went back to pre 901/911 days.

    Hi Cees

It wouldn't be the first time I've tried to draw a line on what I choose to post or share here in words and pictures. That what I tried to do in para 3; thought that point was very clear.

I regret my initial aside; simply intended to point out the M471 wasn't the only RS I understood JK owned. Since that M471 car is one currently for sale making JK association claim in public domain I'll limit my comments to that Afiak the others are not for sale as I want to respect my friends privacy and be decreet about things they might have shared on the expectation I don't post on www.

I may not always get this line in sand right but I like everyone who posts reserve the right to elaborate or not in an open forum.

Dalmatian or Oxford Blue is a stunning colour in early 911

Cees, your making me cry, bringing back memories.
Only kidding. My neighbour Mark didn't have the script whilst in his ownership, said he didn't like it.

Sorry Dave (I keep apologizing to the Brits..and I feel even more sorry now with your Brexit disaster). The old picture doesn't do justice screen colour is way of. Somewhere I have a picture of the car without she script, same as I have my car now.
    Did you run the ST?

    Regards,

    Cees
