This RS (#441) was discussed quite a bit in this thread. Bill Noon added a lot of information about the intersting history of this car.

that car is on ebay now and after looking at the build plate, i'm don't think that is the correct build plate for the car which possibly means that that car is not a genuine RS.

    73 911RS 911L base 911 Cars for sale

    First off no affiliation whatsoever...
I think it may be a little premature to cast allegations of impropreity or worse
without some more substantial supporting evidence or research..
Just this week I have been examining albeit,by way of photos an RS under consideration and witness the very self same vin plate although with the added nomenclature for SC after the 911 ..
I am basically just saying give the sellers there due objectivity until sufficient
info is produced before lambasting them ,thanks Bert

i was more trying to raise awareness because i don't think it is fair for uninformed potential buyers to walk into this car without being aware of that information. it could be a very expensive mistake! i said it was a possibility that the car was not genuine with the implication that there could be an explanation for the incorrectness of the plate. most likely the seller is not aware of this and there is no malice or deciet at play, on his or my parts.

the "SC" designation is correct for genuine RS's, and the "fahrgestell nr" window should contain the entire serial number of the car, not just the last seven digits. instead of reading "360 1225", it should read "911 360 1225". notice also that the font used on the 3's is different. the ebay car has a rounded top, and the correct one should have a flat top.

    observe:
    ebay car:

    correct car:

    911RS,911L,base 911 Cars For sale

You know before examining this thread a little more closely I had almost
confused the Mohlman car(Danny Sullivans) for the Mohr car (craigs list),
    big mistake!
Thanks for those pointers ,I can attest easily overlooked by the uninformed ..
Also no malice received nor intended, thanks Bert
If I proceed any further in the near future with my inquiries on a certain car
I will be calling to get some info as I have done in the past...(Fantasy Junc),
    Thanks Bert
