    '. . . Year 1973
    Make Porsche
    Model 911
    Type Carrera RS 2.7
    Chassis No. 911.360.0207
    Konstruction No. 103.3446
    Engine No. 663.1279
    Gearbox No. 830.209
    Exterior Color Grand Prix White
Interior Color Black Cloth / Leatherette
    Mileage 23,571 Kilometers

This particular RS 2.7 was sequentially the 207th of 1,590 examples produced. It is as such a very early and highly desirable first series example. It was originally completed in the very rare and striking color of “Viper Green” which was color code “38 / 225-9-2” with black cloth and leatherette Sport Seats left and right as well as seat-belts left and right. No radio or sunroof was ordered or fitted new.

Porsches original assembly records record that the vehicle was completed in December of 1972 and later that month delivery took place at the Porsche Factory with the client taking delivery of the car with current registration and plates for West Germany.

This Porsche remained with a single owner in Germany until 1978 when it was sold and imported to Japan. On arrival in December of 1978, it was issued road registration and plates “399 4116" which it would retain for then next 35 plus years. At the time of importation prior to being road-registered, this Porsche had covered 15,500 kilometers from new. An additional 8,000 kilometers were added to the car prior to being placed in long-term storage in 1980. Last year this Porsche was sold to another Japanese owner and issued road-registration and plates “333 41-41.” Total mileage at that time was 23,559 kilometers. Current total mileage is now 23,571 kilometers from new.

An complete and comprehensive inspection and evaluation has just been completed. All of the "date-coded" cast and stamped components have date codes of October and November of 1972 which correctly correspond to the vehicles assembly time frame when new. The hidden "Konstruction" or body tub number is 1033446 which corresponds to a completion of November 1972 as well. There are several areas where the original "Viper Green" paint can be seen showing through the current Grand Prix white which further confirms both the vehicles identity as well as authenticity.

The rear "Duck-Tail" deck-lid is an early, all fiberglass, non-reinforced first version and quite rare as such. Engine compression is perfect with no signs of smoke or internal wear or damage. This is a completely rust and accident free example ready for immediate and enthusiastic use by her next fortunate owner . . .

Almost seems like the car shown on the Symbolic site is just a stock photo. "Hey Joe, I don't have any shots of the car, so just post one of a Grand Prix White RS with red graphics...".

Other anomalies include the seats, the reference to a non-reinforced ducktail, the speedometer has been changed to the later 300 kph one so mileage claim is highly suspect, and the car looks like it originally had A/C based on the gas tank and location of the washer fluid bottle (which still doesn't look right). Will check the book later to see how it was originally delivered.

rear seats are off a later car, and steel US fuel tank. Engine fan strap should be 2 bolt for that early a build.
    Are those alloy front calipers?

    Mobius and RST -
Agreed on both of your posts. Evidently the seller didn't consult anyone smart about RSs before putting it up for sale. In the engine compartment there are lots of incorrect and/or missing pieces, it's dripping oil on the heat exchangers, push buttons on the rear seats? Who did this work? Or, maybe, why didn't anyone do any work? The underside speaks of "run hard and put away wet".
It did come with factory A/C, where 'dit go?
No Viper Green - big oversight!

thanks for posting that list . i agree with the options

however if you look at the two sets of information the photo you pasted from the first link shows an antenna on the LHS, being a manual antenna. the other link with all the detailed photos of the car clearly shows the antenna on the right hand side which is option 441 not 440. It is a bit hard to work out what is what with this advertisement

    Isn't 9113601316 a "double" car now:
    - A 2.8 RSR in Japan
    - A red touring that was in the UK, with a 73T shell...
This one has certainly had a quite complicated life

  9. #729
The red one sold a couple of years ago: click . Indeed a T shell with the engine of 0243.

This car is a total forgery. The engine is not an original RS engine. The serial and type numbers are restamped.

Very interesting to see the original engine of 1316 is now in another RS for sale. Should be interesting to see updated photos on the Symbolic site of RS 207.
