    Help installing new carpet!

I have just received a set of German velour carpets for my 1973 911S from Autobahn Interiors (Tony). The velour carpeting was standard on the 73 S instead of the perlon that other models came with. I am located in Norway and the shipping time was just 6 days!!!

Does anyone know of a guide on the internet with pictures of installing new carpets in a 911?

    Thanks

    John

    A suggestion

When your kit arrives, lay all the pieces out in a sunny area on the floor for a couple of days minimum. This helps take out he kinks from shipping and gives you a good idea how the pieces relate to each other in the car. Take your time!

I just completed this job on my 70S with a set of Autobahn carpets. I used the 3M 'High Strength 90" spray adhes. Dont even bother with the 77 spray.

My best tip is to go slow. I did one or two pieces per evening so that I didnt get to frustrated. You spent big $$$$ for the carpet, so take your time.

The worst pieces are the rear wheelhouse pieces. Use you r old pieces as template to show you where to make relief cuts. You will need a big rubber hammer to help stretch the carpet down into the valleys. Those compound curves are a bear!
