Le Mans '06 R Gruppe goes to France

Will Sanchez and myself will be traveling to Le Mans in a few days.

We leave for Stuttgart on Friday the 9th. We will be staying with Thorsten Klein for a few days. Thorsten has arranged tours at the MB, Porsche, and the Ruf Factories.

We then drive to Le Mans. We arrive on the 16th..race is 17-18... On Monday the 19th, Will flies home...we drive back to Stuttgart. I fly home on the 22nd.

Anyone else going?? We should try to meet up.

Any suggestions, MUST SEE sights, ....please let us know!!!

    Thumbs up

    I went in 2000...

    - Don't miss the LeMans racing museum ...

    - During the race you'll find that you will do right by jumping in your car and driving to another viewing spot of the 'track' ... and it's in another little village... very cool

    - While your driving around, try to get in and eat at one of the now few little restaurants along the Mulsanne straight...lots will have the same idea...
We ate in a little Chinese joint between the two chicanes ... We sat down about midnight... It was the only lousy meal I had in two weeks ... but oh the sights you see and sounds you hear ...

    - Oh, have the option of cell phone commutation in case you guys get separated .......... Man, it gets crowded

... maybe I'll come up with more later

    Nurburgring BMW ring taxi ???

Ray ...I'm not sure what your route is to France but if you get a chance to Book a lap with BMW's RingTaxi @ the Nurburgring ....I highly recommend it ...A Hot lap in an M5 on the North Loop is something you won't soon forget . Or rent a 997 and try to keep it out of the Guard rails yourself . If you want to see what it's like go to Trackdaymedia and watch the video called "M3 chasing M5 RingTaxi" you'll be green but smiling when you step out of that car. $80euro a person .
