They are not always barn finds, This was parked in the open on a mini-farm in Tumalo junction Oregon,
Heard about it, decided to go see it, had't been started in 3 years, No battery It was a 73 Porsche coupe in blue.
Well Got there, and it was covered with Dry central Oregon dust, parked next to the wood shop. I walked up on the hot Snday afternoon to a car with no Grill cover (on the car) and very disty and dirty. the color looked blue and Purple., Cookie cutters, chrome looked good, Montana plates , last stampedin 86. Opened the door felt good, Hey tan Sport Seats, 1 dash crack 86K miles sport covered wheel, perfect frankfurt, door pockets a nine of ten, Opened the motor, dusty but MFI and all complete. Crest is the best original I have seen
Ok pop the boot, hey original tool kit, complete !, original German wood in the Carpet. Ok time to lool under the carpet, the spare was original, I mean never on the car XWX original. HMMM
Body had a glass out respray, owner was given the car by the father. Color code was 329-X-X (looked up as Oxford blue) paint had some tree pitch but absolutely no rust, THe straitest body I have seen since the 72T with 45K that I sold to Don.
Trying not to get to excited, we shook hands on a fair price contingent to checking the Motor, car out.
Showed up next day with trailer, hauled to shop. Attached battery fired in 4 cranks !! Burned oil out of the tail pipe for 20 minutes. Thought Epa was going to fine us.
Smoke cleared, engine in great shape,
Oh while the engine was burning off old gas and oil I went through the glove box, Hmmm, no Owners manual, but wait here is a maintainance manual and inside..............
