This recently completed LWB project isn't even painted in a 911 color, but yet the 356 ROYAL BLUE looks so very right.

What's particularly notable is how the whole car represents an immaculately orchestrated unit, with the colors of the decals, accents and the unpainted components all working together to create a beautifully coordinated "whole"..............but then it's all a matter of taste and opinion, isn't it.
Debating something as individual as colors for cars certainly brings out the wisdom of the old Romans and why they coined the proverb.... de gustibus non est disputandum. How can one possibly argue about matters of personal preference.

In my view, the gold Minilites certainly add to the "all-of-one-piece" look.

They are ALL very beautiful shades of Blue.
I often thought about painting a 911 in a 50's VW Dove blue. I dont think it gets much more pastel then in that shade.
Attached a few more fotos,, all of these blue cars I service and are still original paint from the factory.

    Hi Rob,

What is the shade of the car with tourist plates? Very pretty.

BTW, get the engine in the RS and drive it.

Yes, BMW Laguna Seca Blue is one of my favorites. There was a similar color for 993s. Oslo is a little blue-er, more to my taste.

    Hi Raj,
    Thanks for posting the link
Here is a picture from two weeks ago. The color changes a lot, but this is the most "correct" impression.

Ol' BLue ('67 912) was supposed to be painted maroon. My old friend and business partner in the mid '80s, John Robison, now a nationally recognized free-range Aspergian, decided on his own accord that I'd like Dalmation blue better. I was pretty annoyed but I had to admit, he was right.

    Quick Blue

What about this one, Quick Blue??
    Piëch´s 901 from the 64 Geneva show.
One book says name of the color, another name of the car. What´s right, both??

One day I will build a hot rod/bastard. The original plan was to paint it quick blue, but think I will choose another color. The lavender 67S is too close.
