    1973 Porsche Carrera 2.7 RS 2-Door Coupe
    Stock: FJ380
    VIN: 9113061446
    Engine: 2.7L Flat 6 Cyl, No. 6631401
    Transmission: 5 Speed
Color: White with Red Accents / Black
    Mileage: 126,938 KMS
    Price: $185,000.00

This particular car was delivered new in Germany, and was subsequently imported to the United States. According to the authoritative survey of the Carrera RS written by Thomas Gruber and Georg Konradsheim, this is a matching numbers car and was originally finished in the color it wears today, Grand Prix White with red accents. It has had much restorative work performed, including a full engine rebuild and a thorough cosmetic refurbishment since it arrived in the US. The documentation for this work is included. Various other odds and ends were also renewed, including the tires, starter, various switches, and body seals. All of this work was performed within the last two and a half years and 1500 kilometers, and the total for all included receipts is $38,271.16.

Why are some VIN tags on RS's embossed and others stamped?

I need to look at my RS book, but, if that's a early 'late' shell sticker it's appropriate... The factory switched from the early square 'yellow' sticker to the later 'white' rectangle in about March '73...

    However....
If this is as late as #1446 it should have the later 'single bolt' fan clamp, that was also switched about March '73...
As was the early knurled fuse box knobs to the later wing nuts, which this car has.

    Cheers,

I will stand corrected but I have always thought the change to winged nuts was earlier than March 73 and white shell stickers later than March 73. In fact I always thought the white sticker did not arrive until the very end of the model year production. Let me know what info. you have. Thanks

Wing nut replaced knurled screw in Jan '73 - RS#1446 was built in June '73.

I am no expert in RS, but i do know that the people selling the car are pretty straight forward, i just bought a car from them, and all checked out vey nice and where very straight about the wrongs things with the car. I would suspect hat this car is a real one, but like i said, no expert in RS,jaja.
