    Polishing Clear Coat

Couple of questions about putting a shine on clear coat:

    (1) Is it better to let the clear coat cure for a couple of day?

    (2) What rubbing compound works the best? Is an orbital required, or can it be done by hand?

    Thanks,

John, If this is a finish you really care about, and you don't have experience I'd leave it to a professional. A good polisher can sand and buff flaws you wouldn't imagine could be removed. That said, and amateur with a buffer and compound can ruin a paint job in moments. I have a really good guy here in Portland if you are interested.
