    Need Help with 380mm Wheel...Again

Hi, all. I read the long thread posted recently regarding the 380mm wheel and all of the different part numbers for these wheels. However, I think I'm even more confused now than before.

I posted a couple of wheel pics and that I need help identifying. The part number is 914.347.805.11. My understanding is that this is the CORRECT LATER part number, which superseded previous numbers, for an RS wheel.

However, there is the countersunk/cup area on the nut plate, which doesn't look correct for a 911 wheel. Also, the back of the plate does not have the two countersunk holes for the signal cancelling ring.

Another thing that is bothering me is that it appears the part number used to be 806.11, but that it has been restamped with 805.11. Note the font of the "5" appears different than the rest of the numbers.

To add confusion, I have seen an NOS, still-in-the-bag with the Porsche sticker on it, RS wheel that also was at one time an 806.11 part number, but had also been restamped somewhere along the way to be an 805.11 part. Again, the "5" had been stamped right on top of the "6" with a different looking font.

Can anybody tell me what this is about? Is this even a real RS wheel? Will it at least fit on a 911?

    TIA

That wheel is not a bolt in and not what the seller implies.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That is a 914/4 wheel only. It was never delivered on any other car.

The turn canceller for a 911, RS, RSR, 914/6. will not sit right on the back of the hub without modifications. I was going to spell it modifecation since people are talking shet when they said it was from or for a RS/911 all too often when selling.

The 914/4 will work when modified. You will need to countersink and drill holes for the 911 turn canceller and it should be recessed a bit into the back of the hub so spacing and rocking of the wheel won't be an issue between the column and the hub.

On 911 wheels the canceller plate is flush. When mounted after modifying to a 914/4 wheel it extends out from the hub and is not flush.

Isn't their a truth table on steering wheel numbers somewhere?

    Knowledge is your best defense.

    Petar Kostic

The seller of this wheel is Petar Kostic.

Is he by chance the chap, the "Doctor", that was the self-acclaimed PCA judge selling the fake RS 406 a few weeks back?

    sent you a pm

No that other fellow was calling himself Dr. Anton of Santa Rosa.

This Petar guy likes to give misinformation on his items. It works for him since I have seen some people bid stupid money on his items.

Here is what you should look for if you want a wheel that will go right onto your 911 without mods.

This is with the cancel ring off and you can see the unpainted area is inset slightly from the area around it so the cancel ring then fits flush.
