    Hi

I've been away for a week, the "seller" has returned the money via a check in the meantime. I wanted that 914-6 but it's just too much hassles.... I've tried to get an independent opinion i.e. to find out if there was really water in the engine etc.(thanks Tom for the addresses of the 2 Porsche specialists). One of these Porsche guys made some calls and confirmed the engine problems. I still have the impression the the whole story isn't 100% true but rather safe than sorry....

Thanks again for the feedback and opinions that you've left. This board is great!

    Cheers,
    Mike

    Mike,

I was just roaming around on the 914club.com site and came across this post and recalled reading about your issue. This car is in NY as well, any chance that they are one in the same?

IMHO, the seller decided he/she did not want to sell and concocted a story to get out of the deal...

    Hi Peter

Thanks for the link regarding this 914-6. No, it was not this one. It sounded similar and was/is in NY area too but it's an original, unmodified car which the "seller" had for many years.

I've sent his check to my bank and guess I have to forget that whole story. Would have been nice but hey, there are still even greater 911's out there

    Cheers,
    Mike
