The full ignition advance is actually less than on the standard motors. I think that it's the compression ratio, plus all of these 930/10 engines run nikasils, which are worth some horsepower, in my opinion. The other important difference is the large intake port diameter. The fuel distributor is probably different, too. My old 930/10 was faster than any 3.2 I've driven, though the lighter weight of the Euro car was undoubtedly a factor.

Other advantages of SCs over early cars are the fender flares and the rear trailing arms (aluminum, plus better wheel bearings).
