Glass (GRP) Bumpers with standard trim

I am thinking of going lightweight bumpers front and back.
I like the idea of standard 'S' bumper trim rather than the coloured tape used on say the RS.
Has anyone got experience of fitting standard trim to glass bumpers??
Here's a picture I found on another thread of what I have in mind.
please get in touch if this is your car

Many owners prefer the RS-lightweight look with just vinyl tape adding grams to the overal vehicle weight and/or personal styling preference. The front deco strip is the factory shape and fairly easy to install; just keep it level and drill the mounting holes to match. The bumper curvature can be matched with the usual FG tools.

The rear deco strips should match the curve of the bumper piece. Whether you have the factory pre-bent RS or factory decos, you either bend the strip to match the bumper and/or reshape the usual aftermarket RS bumper to fit. Not shown here, but I still have the factory steel rear bumpers that sorta match the RS flares. I have two ill-fitting FG RS bumpers at home to choose from. Getting decos to match one of those is step 2 (or 10). Maybe lightweight tape is the way to go.

All fiberglass except for the roof and the bumper trim:

Of course, it's harder to see on a black car.

    Glass doors?

Hey Jack How well do the glass doors do? I was thinking about a set. But unsure how well they would work with the window frame. How was the fit? How big a pain were they to get ajusted. Given a choice agin, steel or glass which way would you go agin?

I didn't do the fitting, but they've worked great. I have roll-up windows, and they're essentially the same as the steel ones.

One warning, though: I wouldn't use them without a cage. If you got t-boned, they're not going to offer any protection at all.
