Thread: 1973 911 S Dilema

    Phil:

You would essentially be building 2 cars to take the S back to stock and install all the RSR bits on a race tub. I think any increase in value in a stock S would be purchased in parts and body work to accomplish that task...and the cost will be much higher if you have a shop do it all. Doing some of the work yourself, I think you will still not realize much gain, and your labor will most likely be a donation.

If the restored S's get to be worth $80-90k, then it may be worth it. But I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening any time soon.

    Gib,
You are correct, I have my eye on a tub that is better built than the one I have now, just needs some suspension, fuel cell and fire system which are all parts I have. So I figure I get a better race at the very least and if I stuff it it I haven't destroyed an S chassis. I'll probably leave the S alone for now unless I come across any unexpected financial windfall.

So the next question is (I am already getting some offers to purchase) what is chassis plus engine case worth, I have a set of good interior panels, correct dated fuchs wheels, glass, doors.
