Early 911 Collision Specialist Needed/Insurance Advice

Yes, grown men can - and at times should - cry.

On Sunday I parked along a thoroughfare after a Sunday pleasure drive in the mountains around Ventura, California. While briefly inside a music store, a speeding Ford Taurus lost control and CREAMED my all-original 1970S.

    Breathe.

Fortunately, the Taurus hit my left rear quarter panel and not dead-on into the decklid/engine. The wheel was bent about six inches into the wheel well, and the quarterpanel was toasted. All otherwise appears well, but I'm extremely worried about chassis bend and transaxle damage. The car was moved about seven feet, which suggests it was hit very, very hard.

Which leads to my first question:

I need a early 911S wizard collision expert in Southern California. Badly. Suggestions? I live in Ventura but will ship my baby to the ends of the earth for the best repair.

    Second question:

Any advice about dealing with the insurance company (AAA)? I would assume they are incapable of properly adjusting the repairs on such a rare (and old) vehicle.

    Thanks you deeply!

Brace's Auto Body out by LAX is excellent. (He used to be in the Marina but has moved) He has a chassis jig to make sure that it is done right. I was talking to him today about the insurance companys low ball offer for repair of my car. (21st Century) He basically said not to worry that he can just bill them for the charges and they will pay.

I can't imagine AAA would be much different.

He is really popular though because he has such a good reputation. He said don't even bother bringing my car by until after the first week of December because he's just too busy. If your not in a hurry then you might consider him.

His phone number is 310-915-8500. Just to warn you though. He's so busy he rarely picks up.

I found it better to communicate via the internet. I emailed him pictures and faxed the insurance estimate for him to look at. It took a few days but he called me and we talked through the estimate and his thoughts about it.

I've always considered the glass to be half full...that is until I reached middle age and realized that it is actually half empty.
