Sway bar options for street/autocross car

My car has sway bars on it currently and as i was putting together an order for new bushings it occured to me that maybe there was upgrade potential

Assuming i have 15mm sways f/r what are my upgrade options? I don't like the idea of dropping $1,200 on the adjustables if it's avoidable. Not very period correct and i will be lucky if i get to 5 autocross events in a year. I am just hoping to have a good time and learn more about my car while improving my driving skills.

I have read a bit about 18mm sways from early turbo cars but can't find a definitive thread on installation and any fitting issues.

    Thanks!

Your stock bars should be fine, might want to consider upgrading torsions and shocks. All depends on how much you want to sacrifice the ride quality.

I have 19mm Weltmeister adjustable sway bars front and rear with my stock torsion bars. I like the adjustability for AX since I can add some oversteer at the race course but then can dial them back for street use.

As I recollect, you have the early through body front bar. You should be able to pick up a used 18/19 mm bars for much less than the $1200 you quote. While there are better bars than the Welty's, for your needs, they may be adequate.
