Hi:
Does anyone know if the Hella 115 driving lughts are the factory correct lights for a 1970 911 S. If so, are the clear lenses or fluted lenses correct, or does it matter?
Thanks for the help.
John

My 71S came from the factory with ttg driving light that are not the traditional 118's. The lens has halogen lightly down the front with fine vertical flutes. What do 115's look like? Maybe that's what they are? Do you have any pictures.

Thanks for the information. I do not have a picture of the hella 115 lights. I am looking for one now and hope to get a picture I can post.

John, Was your car US delivery? I'd love to email you for some details.Originally Posted by jashford

Michael,
The car was delivered at the factory in the summer of 71. The original owner was temporarily working in Germany, drove it over there for a short while, then brought it bach to the States.

Mike/John:
The 1970 911 s is a U.S. car.
Is it your thought that the correct light is the 118, not the 115 lights?
John
John,
Neither. If it was a US spec car then the correct fog lights would not be the 118s. It would be the TN4s. Driving lights would not have been delivered on a US spec car that I know of because Halogens (118s) were a DOT no no.

I think you are dead on with your thoughts. The U.S. cars were not allowed halogen lamps at that time. That is why euro cars received H-1 headlights and we got sealed beam headlights.
I really appreciate the help.
Reagrds,

OK, so does anyone have pictures of the various fog and driving light options available during that period? Thanks.

I could really use some help identifing my lights so that once identified I would have a better chance of finding a pair of replacement lenses. Right now I just don't know how to describe what it is I'm looking for. They are obviously Hella halogen ttg driving lights but beyond that I don't know how to describe them.
Anybody have any ideas? Best case, someone will say " yea, they are --- and I have a pair of new lenses I will sell."
Thanks, John
