hooo...boy!
Now...Where's the VW diesel??
Actually, better yet...where's the MERCEDES Diesel??
This is gonna get good...
Looks great, but I hope they have much more than that in the works.
A scale and CG model is a LONG way from the race track!

Ya'know, your absolutly right Jared...
I heard they had a full size display/test rolling body at the Paris Auto Show...... BUT, as you say, THAT'S a long way from Sebring or even the Le Mans trials .... in April ... I think?

Funny that Porsche renamed the 901 to the 911 when Peugeot complained, yet they now name their newest race cars after one of Porsche's best.

VW owns Audi. I doubt they will race themselves. Porsche holds a 25% stake in VW presumably to protect them from a hostile takeover.Originally Posted by Homemade 911

I believe LMP1 is irrelevant other than to highlight new technology. Audi has them covered for now. If Nissan, Toyota, BMW or Mercedes decides to play, they will as they have done before. It's an expensive gambit.
I really enjoy production based racing (with REAL cars and not the tube frame Caddies!). Racing is based on "who has the biggest stick" which is read something like this: ($$$)3 x ($$$)3 = Win.
It is rumored that Audi has not "turned the power all the way up"! Yes, there is more that can be dialed in from the cockpit. Have they sandbagged to keep from completely running away from "the competition"? Hmmm...
Porsche won't play in LMP1. The reason is clear. Money. It's a smart move as the company cannot sustain a lengthy battle with the majors if any of them decide it's time to beat the hell out of each other. It would be a fool’s errand.
Yes; Smart like a fox.

'tube frame caddies'
you gotta love it when car makers tout 'race bred technology' when advertising their 'sporty' cars.
man i love my race car (w/ street car bred comforts like carpet and glass windows).
