    Carbon dioxide blasting

I don't know if this is available in the UK/USA but it is used here in Porscheland quite often for difficult tasks. They blast with very cold gas (dry ice). It doesn't heat up and is non abrasive. You can remove layer by layer. Only the undercoating and leaving the paint underneath untouched or both, one after another. It even doesn't touch the electrics or any kind of rubber, like brake lines or suspension parts. No leftovers, not even moisture.
I added here two pictures of an unrestored Triumph Herald of a friend. The results were excellent.

Dry Ice blasting is great,,, but its super expensive... Does a great job of removing undercoat and layers of paint.

Cost is about 1000 Euro over here including resealing. So I guess with the cheaper labor cost in the US it should be less than 1000 USD.

Considering how much money you can save on disassembling the car using this process, it sounds like a bargain!

So.... What if you had your chassis baked without the door bracing? Can i measure the door opening dimensions? Any idea what they are on a swb? What can you do to fix it? Don't ask me why I am concerned.

The precise dimensions are in the workshop manual for a SWB. Volume 1 or 2, I forget which and I'm not getting out of bed to find out right now !
We have 4 dry ice blasting services in the city. Its not as expensive as it once was. Brilliant on undercoating.
