Um... I thought the car had "never been raced."

Events and races appear to be different beasts. Daytona vs. a club event, for example.

If I ever sold my 911E, and someone asked me if I ever "raced" the car, I wouldn't say "no" because I "only" ran the car in amateur time trial events with the POC. And I never competed in any true wheel-to-wheel events like the Coronado Historics which is known for some SPIRITED competition.

A race car pushed to 10/10 on a race track competing against other race cars in a wheel-to-wheel race was "never raced"? If you say so.

The car was brand new when I purchased it from the original owner.

It had zero period races. I raced the car after I got it at Coronado, Phoenix, three TDFs and two Le Mans races.

My racing was all fun and a rare chance to see what one of these special cars was like with zero modern updates or changes.

Frank got the car in better and more carefully preserved condition than I found it and that says a lot.

This week I am in Florida racing Ferraris.

In few weeks I will have Franks old 911SR Canadian Championship Car.

More than likely this SR will become part of my friends growing collection depending on the sale of the ST.

The R has gone onto a better home where it will be preserved as well as used gentley.

    Cheers,

    Bill Noon

While I have no idea how your Ferrari racing has anything to do with this thread (except that I'm jealous) -- What I am confused about is quite simple -- Frank posted here that he purchased a race car that's never been raced from you. You tell us the car was raced. In fact, you raced it at Le Mans! So, I'm just wondering why Frank would start the post the way he did in the first place? Frank, feel free to jump in here any time. I mean, you guys gotta admit this is kind of confusing. But not as confusing as you mentioning that you purchased the car "brand new" from the original owner but delivered it to Frank better than you found it?! What in the world does that mean?
