The rotor arm has some chips nocked out, I don't think that will affect it though, the cap is crack free and in great shape.
No idea what I'm going to use it for, maybe a desk ornament!

    Nice find Ian !

    However, I think that's a 935 distributor...

The Bosch twin-plug distributor fitted to the 3.0 RSR is part number :

    B 237 490 011

    Want to sell it ?

    Dizzy

All I need to do now, to make it perfect, is to jack it up and slip the rest of the car in underneath it!

Nice find, If it is a 935 dizzy then it has no advance and will not perform well. Looks good though.

    Aaron:

One makes those work very well by using some MSD ignition controls that electronically provide the starting retard and advance curve.

You simply do it all "backwards" with stepped retard values,....

    Damn Steve...forgot about that!

Whats the problem with using it with an MSD? Are you doing an accurate 3.0 RSR replica and want to do it the "right" way? Can you verify that it has no advance?

LOL,..I know people who have gone to great efforts to disguise MSD box to look more like Bosch OEM ignition units by carefully sealing the bottoms to bead blast all the paint off. Then, the cases are machined a bit to look more like the Bosch ones.

It won't fool the knowledgeable folks with a close inspection, but it would require a double-take (or triple) to spot the differences. Done properly, it looks very good,.....
