    Thanks again guys.

    I have one last? question....

Do any of you guys that have a Halda mounted remember how long your cable is? The one I have is 32 inches and I think it might be a bit on the short side. Oh and I'm about 3000km's away from my car so I can't check...

Just wanting to buy all the bits in advance so I am fully equiped when I get the chance to do the installation!

    Cam,

32 inches should do well enough, you really don't need longer but do pay attention when you hook it up. No angles (it will break while turning), but slight bows (a 90 degree angle over a distance of 6 inches).

    It's finally in

I'm running 131 and 58 gears and I checked on the weekend on the odometer check from the Classic Adelaide course notes from last year.

On the official check distance of 5.64km's the Halda read 5.78 so it looks like I need to put in an X wheel with more teeth.

Can anyone tell me which gear to use? I don't have a calculator handy and I'm crap at maths anyway!!

You are better off w/ 134. This will leave you .2% w/ your yesterday rally chair. FYI your Twin will be .2% too fast, or about 2 meters on a KM.

    Richard

    p.s. the calculations are:

    5.78-5.64 = .14

    .14/5.64 = 2.482%

    gear 131 = .763%

    2.482/.763 = 3.25 which rounds down to 3

Since you are too fast you need a bigger gear, 131+3= 134

    Remaining diff: 2.482 - 3x .763 = .193%

Hello again its me the mathmatically challenged one

I have changed from 205/60/15's to 225/50/15's and am not sure if I need to go to a larger teeth count than a 134 gear or a lower tooth count. I think I have 129 - 133 so I hope its lower.....

    Help again please guys!!

    Cheers

It has been a little while for me but smaller/ lower tires means more revolutions on your twin hence you need a larger (more teeth) gear in your Halda to get it down.
