attention any and all pre 1970 owners

i am still trying to learn when the door jamb vin sticker came into use.
so far i haven't seen one prior to 1970my. does anyone have an original pre-1970 example? in this case no votes would also be informative.
if they do exist a photo would be great!
there is also a photo of one in my owners manual, perhaps yours is handy and you could check?
    thanks,

I don't have one on my relatively early '69 S (built around Sept. '68). But the car's been repainted at least once so it could have been removed at that time...

I've never seen one on a UK market 911 until much later - only on North American market cars.

Correct. The language about "applicable Federal motor vehicle standards" is referring to US Dept. of Transportation regulations. I would expect that particular sticker to only have appeared on US market cars.

I just checked my car which is a very late production 1969 911E karman coupe (6th from the last for the year for Karman coups) and mine does not have a vin sticker. Now my car has been repainted, so it was possible it was removed somewhere along the way.

i'm starting to suspect that the "safety compliance sticker" started in 1970.
but any atheist will tell you its hard to prove something doesn't exist.
has anyone checked their owners manual? my 72 edition shows it on page 10.
    thanks fot all the replies.
    the search continues.

Quite likely. There's also no sticker on my '69 VW Beetle, which appears to have original paint on the door jamb. VW was applying virtual identical stickers by the time they built my '74 Karmann Ghia.

Is it possible to have new stickers made?
My 1970 S had the sticker removed years ago for a repaint, I have the remnants of it, but i don't think it could ever go back on.

I was just searching to see what others have found on this topic. My 69E with original paint does not have a VIN Sticker. My VIN is 119200842. Did someone figure out when (MY) VIN Stickers were used?
