My first Porsche was a "brand new" 1982 911SC - platinum metallic with a tan cashmere interior that I bought at age 27. I was a semiconductor process engineer and quit to join the Air Force for pilot training. Life changed and wasn't able to join the AF. Rejoined the semi industry and paid my annnual salary on the Porsche. I enjoyed every minute of owning that car.

1996 911 C4S - returned
1982 911SC - gone
1960 356 Roadster - sold
...I say "brand new" because it was sold as brand new by Porsche Santa Cruz in spite of it having 500 miles on it - I was so excited that I disregarded it. They said it was "delivery miles" due to a dealer trade from Los Angeles.
The other funny story was my first purchase attempt at Los Gatos Ferrari: they has a nice '82 911SC with very low miles. I did the whole deal and at signing the manager showed-up and said "not enough money- we need $500 more." Fortunately, I walked away (incensed). A couple/few years later a Ferrari of Los Gatos customer on a Ferrari test drive pulled over and handcuffed the sales person around a tree and drove away..."goes around comes around"
Cheers to all

Hard to believe it's been nearly four years since post #60.
In that time, I've added a few more, but also met MANY more great folks along the way....
Vic Elford
Brian Redman
Frank Beck
Hurley Haywood- (reacquainted)
Lynn St.James- (reacquainted)
and many, many more from these pages.
Great folks like Candyce Marie.
and Mike Fitton
But, sadly we have lost a few as well.
So our days of Porsche ownership continue to age like a fine wine. And we continue to grow in numbers and in stature.
Let me just say this:
You guys are awesome. Thanks for your collective knowledge, shared so willingly. Here's to another 34 !!!
Best Regards,
