Thread: 2.2 rod bolts?

    2.2 rod bolts?

Anyone know if there is a supplier of high strength rod bolts for the 2.2 engines similar to the 2.0 and 2.4 available thru (?) ARP? My understanding (maybe incorrect) is that the 2.2 rod bolts are unique. For use in stock rods.

    Info appreciated

    thanks

Call Henry at Supertec - I believe he modifies the 2.2 rod slightly to be able to use an ARP bolt for the 928.

    Talking 2.2 rod bolts

thx very much guys - this is just what I was looking for!

btw Kenik - what's the status on your motor? I'm very interested in how it runs with the cams you described. Also, are you running MFI, and if so, what are you doing to the pump?

    regards

JE is pretty much killing me with tardiness on the pistons. They still aren't done and Henry doesn't know why. Admittedly, my heads are whack-o one off dome profiles, so I am sure that is a major contributor, but I am getting a little frustrated with JE and their reputation as being a "Custom" piston builder...my eye!

BTW, yes, MFI. I am staring at my pump as I type. I will send one of my two '69S pumps off to Gus for rebuild.

Its Nascar season. Always buy your JE pistons right after the final Cup race. EBS might have a set in stock, but dealing with JE during race months... forget it.

Actually you just mill down the 2.2 rod and ream to a accept an ARP 2.4/2.7/3.0 (10mm) bolt.

    Hi Kenik,
    what specifications you're looking for?

Completely custom; the cylinder heads are 1969S that were turned to a custom profile. They have much larger dome volume than stock. JE has the heads now to pattern the custom pistons from them.
