    Introduction

    Hello,

Thought I should take a moment to introduce myself to the board. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool gearhead. I cut my teeth on Moms 58 sunroof sedan Beetle.
I then bought a 59 ghia and built it to my specs. 2.0 litre, 48 IDA's engle 130 cam etc, Oh yea, and 4 wheel disk brakes. Great car, still have it, down for body and paint, carb re-build. Then 3 years ago a friend of the mine from the yacht club....not what you think..its a great drinking hole near Pac Bell or is it ATT park now? gave me his old '72 240z. I went on to totally restore it, and it became my daily driver. Unit 8 mos ago, when my neighbor up the street, rear-ended it while parked in front of my house! Car was a total loss, insurance paid me off. A week later I see an ad in craigslist and I am know the proud owner of the mutt you see below. its a 67 with bits an pieces from
other years. As soon as I get the suspension finished (new bushes for now)
I'll start on the accuisition of period parts (mirror, seats etc). Well thats it in a nutshell. I'd like to say thanks for all the info I've gotten using the "search"
tab....It's been a great help. Back before the internet it would take a guy years of wrenching to figure stuff out.

    So again THANKS

    Dave

    Thanks guys,

The fun has begun!! The car came with mechanical (no spring) tensioners, now running pressure feds! Done a valve adjustment, changed all the fluids etc, you know, starting a baseline. Looks like my credit card went through, so should have a member # tag line soon!

    Cool

    Welcome Dave!
Yayy! Another Irish Green!! Nice mutt indeed. I think you're gonna have alot of fun with this one. The bay area has many early 911 drivers and a wealth of information to help you along if needed. Maybe they can chime in.
