Steering wheel shaft splines kinda bent

    HI Group.

    DIY question.

I Have a nice wheel to install this weekend and took apart my Steering wheel shaft, and the spines on the front are all bent and the steering wheel wont go on.
(there was no wheel on it before BTW- SWB resto)

Is there a way I can file this down or am I just to get a new one.

Here is a nice picture to show the teeth (in red circle) and mine actually below. I dont want to force it on and wreck my new 911R wheel (perfect from Classico wheels BTW!!)

    Any ideas to help?

Since there is still plenty of "meat" remaining on the lower end of the splines, I would certainly clean them up with a file. Take your time, do numerous trial fittings without force and you should wind up with a perfect fit.

Use a triangle file and it will be fine

The work of an infidel! Aforementioned file will do the trick.
