This is your opportunity to own a classic at a fraction of its original price. Many consider the 993 Twin Turbo to be the last “real” Porsche. With over 400hp and 400-lb. ft of torque, this is one of the greatest super cars for the street. The truly visceral feel of the turbos spooling up is like nothing else!

It is getting harder and harder to find a close to concours 993 Turbo that has been maintained like this one. We have known this car and owner for the past 6 years and have never found anyone to care for a car as much as this owner did. Within the last 10,000 miles, everything mechanically has been freshened up on the car. The following was performed:

    • Rebuilt Engine by Beverly Hills Porsche
o Complete motor disassemble and rebuild
    o New camshafts
    • New Porsche factory turbos installed by Stuttgart Automotive
    • New power steering rack
    • Front Strut Brace
    • Rebuilt A/C system and climate control
    • New factory windshield
    • Turbo Oil Line Repair (most common problem with 993 TTs) by Tony Callas at Rennsport
    • New drive belts and alternator belt
    • New ignition system and spark plug wires
    • Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 Tires replaced less than 3k miles ago
    • New Clutch, Pressure Plate, and Lightweight Dual Mass Flywheel by Stuttgart

Whoever buys this car is literally buying a 10,000-mile car mechanically. All of the work listed here are common (and expensive) repair items that usually have to be addressed on these cars. Nearly $30,000 was spent!

The car looks stunning in its original Midnight Blue Metallic, which is a very rare color on a Turbo. This turbo has never been in an accident and only had the hood and front bumper repainted due to normal road chips. One of the top Ferrari paint shops in Los Angeles did the paintwork to ensure a perfect match.

Paris Audio of Los Angeles installed a very nice Nakamichi sound system with CD Changer.

The custom Fikse Mach V 3-piece forged wheels (8.5x18 and 11x18) have zero curb-rash and are in excellent shape..

This car came with some great options:

    • Standard Turbo Equipment
o Cruise Control, Litronic lights, etc.
    • Lumbar Support
    • Supple Leather Front and Rear
    • Full Carbon Fiber package

This car also had some great Porsche options installed afterwards:
    • Carbon fiber shift knob
    • Carbon fiber e-brake handle
    • Polished aluminum instrument gauge bezels
    • Bilstein shocks (front and rear)
    • M030 Factory (European) Suspension
    • Corner balance/Alignment by Johnson alignment.
    • Custom FabSpeed Exhaust system with optional Bypass pipes
    • Lightweight Clutch/Flywheel
    • (The Carbon Fiber Steering wheel is not included with the car and the original steering wheel will be reinstalled before delivery)

Recently, the car was thoroughly inspected by Tony Callas at Rennsport. Anything significant was taken care of. The bill was almost $2,500. Here were the compression/leakdown results:

    Compression: Cyl#1: 150 / Cyl#2: 150 / Cyl#3: 150 / Cyl#4: 150 / Cyl#5: 150 / Cyl#6: 160
    Leakdown: Cyl#1: 4% / Cyl#2: 2% / Cyl#3: 4% / Cyl #4: 3% Cyl#5: 150 / Cyl #6: 3%

All books and keys are included.

Somebody straighten me out here. I don't know the turbo well (and that might be obvious by these comments) but in a situation where you, "have never found anyone to care for a car as much as this owner did", yet the car, with <50k (that's right, less than 50,000) miles on the clock apparently needed...

    • Rebuilt Engine by Beverly Hills Porsche
o Complete motor disassemble and rebuild
    o New camshafts
    • New Porsche factory turbos installed by Stuttgart Automotive
    • New power steering rack
    • Front Strut Brace
    • Rebuilt A/C system and climate control

Well, I'm just a little confused.

Either the 993 Turbo is far more fragile than I would have assumed or the owner drove the power steering rack right off this baby.

It's certainly well presented and described but what's up with all of this rebuild on such a low mileage car?

...good question. Originally, this was my dad's car and he sold it to our friend who called us after driving it for 6 months (2k miles) and said that the check engine light came on. We asked him how the car drove, and he said great. We told him it was probably an o2 sensor or mass air sensor. Next thing we know, he takes it to Beverly Hills Porsche (#1 problem) and they said they have to rebuild the motor because there is a valve problem and he didn't bother taking it to an independant shop like Andial for a 2nd opinon (#2 problem). And, then he authorized a $14k bill for the rebuild (#3 problem). So, I think that BH Porsche saw this client coming, new he had money, but not a lot of knowledge about the car. Then, the Turbos being replaced was also probably not necessary. Tony Callas of Callas Rennsport has some great information on the problems with the 993 Turbos. He said that in his career, he rarely if ever saw street turbos fail. It was more of an issue with how the oil was fed through the trubo/exhaust system. People see smoke out of the exhaust and assume the turbos are bad. The fix is expensive ($2k), but not nearly as bad as replacing the turbos. The steering rack was another BH porsche scam....all it really needed was a new pump.

So, once you get past all this, the maintenance was not out of the question for a $120k exotic car. Some A/C issues, CV boot, etc.

Also, the front strut brace was a modification not a damaged replaced part.

Whew....my hands are tired of typing. Hopefully this all makes sense. I've learned quite a bit about all the 993s after selling them for the past several years. Please do not hesitate to call me at the number below for more info. And, we always welcome a complete PPI on any car someone wants to purchase.

    Thanks.

    Paul
