Thread: Show Your Seats

  1. #541
Looking to replicate the worn faded corduroy inserts as seen in Uli's seats below. Can anyone help? I have some new black corduroy material which I am trying to age over the summer by leaving it out in the sun for the next several months, also going to have a go at using a few chemicals to try and fast track the process. however from my initial experiments not holding out much hope.

Was hoping someone might have some original material available which is already faded etc enough to cover a set of seats (inserts)

Long shot i know but if you don't ask...

    thanks
    Mark

Is it possible to leave it in a tanning bed for a couple weeks? That way you get intense simulated sun 24 hours/day.

Hi Bob, thank you for sharing, couldn't find anything either ( as they were the leading brand for making seat covers ) and haven't see that seat before.Seems like they closed in the 70 and the trademark was active until 1997

Rcaro's answer to Scheel lightweight sliders

Scheel (now called: lightweight) sliders were often used on race cars because they allowed adjustment of the seat - even if you were strapped in a Harness.
I've seen Recaro buckets with Scheel sliders in period photos, but today I've seen something very cool: a Scheel Bucket with a modded Recaro Slider.
This is a right Recaro slider mounted on the left side of a BMW Works car with a bent lever to allow for adjustment of the scheel seat.

I just installed a sport upper to my drivers seat. I kept the other upper that looks like the one on the passenger seat for long distance touring.

Any ideas what these are? I think they might be Scheel 400 Rallye seats in posting #498. The previous owner told me there were period correct seats, albeit not the original seats (obviously). Great seats and very comfortable regardless.

Aren't these seats suppose to be installed on the floor?
