Size: 107.7 KBTook me forever to source this blue tartan fabric from Scotland that Stefan at GTS was finally able to find. Now I have the option to go all black with my original OEM sport seats or for some color pop to an otherwise all black interior, I can change out to these GTS Repro Sport Seats that I think compliments my Gem Blue exterior nicely.

These seats are his Zeppelin style (Hot Rod). Obviously these are not correct, but they weigh about half of the Recaro sport seats that came with the car when I got it last year. Since the car is truly a hot rod with 7" wheels all around and a non-matching 911 E engine and Cibie's on the hood, I felt that I could take the liberty to save weight.

I specified the grommets and vinyl basketweave as a reference to seats that were from the period.

I started down the road toward custom seats because anything from the period was just too narrow for me to be comfortable in on the long rally's I take the car on -- I am really pleased and excited by how they came out --

wow, very very cool that you and Stefan produced these........Im hip to the look from the hot rod/rat rod world.

    Im local....could I get to sit in them?....pm me if u can!......Ill bring a few brews.....or java......

I don’t have big money to put into seats so I’m scrounging for ones that need work. I just picked up this one. It will need new seat and back pads but the bolsters cleaned up nicely. If anyone has another scheel 300 or something similar, I’m interested. Thanks!

    First series Tombstones

    Hello,

I recently purchased this pair of Carrera/Turbo tombstones. This driver's seat (RHD) has the very rare factory-option holes for race-harness belts.

I know these are not correct for a longhood but I don't care - it's my car

Before these were delivered to me, I was planning to reupholster them with leather but unfortunately these seats have a very, very nice smell (like in a brand new 930) so I have decided not to restore them afterall.

The first series tombstones were derived from the Recaro idealsitz S but even better quality (OEM) as:
both hinges of each seat has a locking mechanism (Idealsitz S only has one).
the fore-aft lever are handed left/right (Idealsitz S only right side)
there is no lever behind the outer reclining hinge that tangles the seat belt
it has a very nice smell upholstering
no console required. Install post 74 seat rail supports.

The only downside is that the headrest is not detachable but who cares? More comfortable anyway. (you could sleep on it)
