Thread: Thanks for a Great R Gruppe weekend!

  1. #11
I'll pay good money if anyone happened to get a picture of Cris getting his 'safety check' from the CHP as he led the train down to Solvang.

He was a very nice officer and ended up joining us for lunch and taking in the show. Cris was released with a promise of sending an RG T-shirt along to him....

Great weekend, thanks to all who put it together, to all that came to make special, and a special thanks to Randy, I can't stop giggling or get the smile off my face.

    +1 to everything already said.

I'll second that !!! Great w/e and a great extended, umm..."tour".. on Friday with Dave B. ...by my odometer we drove 150 miles of nice back road twisties.....I think I only dipped below 5k rpm when we pulled over to wait for the rest of the pack(I have short gears...). Thanks Dave for a very safe and progressive outing

....and A HUGE SHOUT OUT of "Thanks" go out to Tony & Marco Gerace of TLG, who were there on the side oF hwy 101 when one of our newest 'gruppsters, Sheila B.'s coil took a cr*p.... Tony drove back up 25 mi. from Solvang with an extra coil that Stacy S., had with him. Tony & Marco traced the source of her ignition problems thru some road side diagnostic's and after a minor ignition tune-up we were off again...

Classic example of what it's all about.

Oh and Marco.....Thumb's up on the SLO/Tire Pro's referral for the wife's 930. Thanks

    I'm still buzzin !

A truly fantastic event, thanks to everyone who helped organize & orchestrate the best event of the year. The cars were something special, but it's the people that make this event something to remember.

I'm going to jump on the dog pile and throw my kudos on the heap. I had a GREAT!!! time and I'm already looking forward to next year.

These damned things seem to get better every year ... and I just want to add that I thought the venue was PERFECT. HUGE lot and GREAT atrium.

Johnny Riz - NOBODY gets left behind. It was a journey we'll never forget. Stories for the next go-round.

Thanks again to all who made the trip, and a SPECIAL THANKS to all who had a hand in organizing the shindig. These, gentleman, are the ties that bind.

    Pictures to follow...

I talked to that CHP at the show. Turns out he's a BMW guy and has a e30 325 with a modified e36 6-cylinder. Claims he can smoke my e30 M3 with it! I told him let's line 'em up on the 101 and give it a try He's wants an early 911 but they've priced themselves out of his budget.

    A Great Event

I want to add my thanks. First to Freeman and Chris who had this dream of very special cars and the people who love them, what a great combination. It is a wonderful culture. I thought it was a strong indicator that Freeman and Chris both have such strong emotional ties to the Gruppe.

Thanks also to John Gray, Bob Tilton, Thorsten, the wives and all the others who did the logistics.

Thanks to all of you who I got to meet, get to know a little and learn from about the cars.

What a fun experience. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the Gruppe, I have never seen so many cars in one place that I would love to drive and know all about

You got that right Marco! We get together for the cars, but what I take away is the bonds with you all. The fellowship and the friendships is what keeps me buzzing all year. I'm blown away. I think of Freeman's words at dinner. Very cool.

Don't get me wrong, the cars are better every year. I get so amped up; my brain was up against the rev limiter the entire time... caffein helped with that.

    Early morning, at speed -
