Yes it was a great weekend. As always it was so fun to hang out with the Midwest boys and play with our toys on the twisty roads around Dayton.

Special thanks go to Dave for putting so much effort into hosting us and arranging for Vic to come back to the Taj. He is a real gem. Also thanks go to John Dixon and all the others who put in a tremendous amount of work to make this event such a hit. Those of you out there in the Midwest need to keep Memorial Day weekend open next year and be sure to join us. See you guys at Road America in July.

Here's Brian's RS. Scott Hansen's silver 69E hot rod also won an award (it's got the trick cockpit-adjustable rear ride height). We also did a test-fit of the factory ski rack on my Targa.

It really, REALLY doesn't get any better than sitting next to Quick Vic, hearing his detailed stories of driving the Targa Florio, Marathon de la Route, and a BLOW by BLOW description of the first lap of Le Mans 1970, now immortalized in the movie.

One memorable tale involved a few intentionally loud laps of the full Nurburgring to scare wildlife away from the track for upcoming traffic. Vic was not able to avoid an eagle, who was sadly a little too late to take off from the track surface. When he returned to the pits, they immediately asked him where he went off. After seeing the extent of the damage nobody believed his bird story, and it gave the mechanics a good laugh. So off they went to find the evidence. Fortunately, for Vic's reputation at least, he hit the huge bird so hard it was still there on the track surface... "stone cold dead".

Thanks to our perennial hosts Dave and Melissa, John Dixon and everyone else who helped make this such a great weekend. You east/west coast guys need to put this event on your calendar for next year! Everyone pick up a copy of Vic's new biography... it's an excellent read, especially how he convinced Huschke von Hanstein to give him a 911 to race, the genesis of the 911's illustrious racing exploits. Also a big thanks to Brian for bringing that SWEET RS, and for giving me a turn behind the wheel!

Good to see that money still talks. John D. gladly accepted by bribe, er... I mean charitable contribution, to win the top awards even though Scott H. drove much further than I did.

That plan didn't work with Vic though, he couldn't be bought off. He picked a Beck Spyder as his favorite.

    My pleasure Jared.

I had a BLAST this weekend too !!! It was great to see all you guys again and hang with a true legend !!! Wow !!!

I'm going to have to make a trip up north and see you guys !! I'm sure you have some nice cold beer up there too !!! -Once a year's not enough to hang with good guys !!!

Only bad part for me was since I was working so much I didn't carry a camera to snap photos !! I had some incredible photo op chances that will NEVER happen again, now just a memory !! -but very good ones !!!

I was working pit lane at the entry to the now Infamous- TURN #1, and did get a few shots with my low-res phone cam and even a video clip of Vic in the Gulf livery kart !!! I'll try to post them when I download them from my phone...

awesome weekend guys!!! It was great getting to hang out and catch up with everyone.

the funniest part was when we filled up for gas, Dave looked at me and said that they were going to have to have an intervention with me about my ride height LOL

she is also very anal retentive and ocd when it comes to cleaning.. i can see many cars being detailed in the future

I joked around with her at the show that i could see her getting one and turning it into a 100 pt concourse car. when i explained what that was, her eyes lit up.

Did i mention she likes going fast and can drive a stick? yeah.. she is a keeper.
