    SPORT SEAT SLIDERS / TILTs / FRAMES pair 69-73 RESTORED

    If one of you out there have a pair of the ever desirable Sports Seats but do not have the bases then you will be glad you saw this post.

    Late last night in my shop, like a mad scientist, I finished this pair of bases. This is a genuine pair of bases for any 69-72 sport seat (they will work on a 73 but they do not have all the double locker linkage, this could be added).

    Starting off with a decent pair of sliders, they were completely disassembled to all basic parts, metal frames were bead blasted and powder coated gloss black (the factory dipped the frames in paint, the powder coat is much stronger/durable and looks much better). The levers were zinc plated - springs were black oxide coated, new roll pins installed. NEW STAINLESS STEEL hinge pins were installed on the tilting mechanism, New rubber bumpers were added to the bases where the tilt rests, finally new bolt hardware is included to bolt your seats to the frames with.

    So there you have it, a fully restored set of ultra rare Sport Seat bases. If you have ever attempted to restore a set of these yourself then you may already know the difficulty and skill needed to do them right. When a perfect set of Sports Seats are running $5000 there is no time to mess around with home made reproduction bases - do you really want to be laughed at when you take your 911S to the next show?
