    July 19th pre-Road America gathering

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is an open invitation to anyone planning on going to the Brian Redman challenge at Road America the weekend of July 20-22nd.
On Thursday July 19th, Barb & I will be hosting a fun filled day & evening on beautiful Rock Lake in Lake Mills, WI. Arrival can be anytime on Thursday. There will be no formal schedule, but the basic idea is, in no particular order:
    Hang out at the lake
    Stare at cars
    Go sailing
    Look at cars
    Go kayaking
    Go for a spirited drive
    jet ski
    Talk about cars
    Drink
Plan our big trip for 2008
    Evening boat cocktail cruise
    Barbecue
    Talk politics (just kidding)
Help Rex make the mojitos (previous RA attendees know how important this is!)
and just have a great time together!!

We have lodging for 7 couples, or individuals, 3 of which are spoken for. There are also several inexpensive, nice hotels, one being 5 minutes away, the other about 15.

Friday mid-morning we can set out for Road America!!

Please let us know if you're planning to attend.

    Randy,
I am soooo going to try to make it. It all depends on whether my new business venture is on schedule or not. I am planning on opening that week, so I may miss this event.

Curt, you still have a "to do" list for your car? I thought you were done after the Taj marathon! Oh yeah, that's right, it is a never ending process.

Yes it will be quite the Early 911 slumber party at Lake Mills.

I will join you in the garage Jared. I have dibs on the Conda Green S with the comfy late-style Recaros.

We do have another house on the lake, about five minutes away with three bedrooms & some sofa beds. Great house, great views....so it won't be quite as crowded as you think (although you're still welcome to sleep in the garage if you'd like)

We booked some additional rooms last night in Sheboygan as our back up plan. We are also on the waiting list at the Americinn in Plymouth for three more rooms. So far, this is what we have:

    1 room Holiday Inn Express/Sheboygan
    3 rooms Americinn/Sheboygan
    3 rooms America's Best Value/Sheboygan

Have not heard from Jim yet, and I talked to Mark (the neighbor a few doors down with the red '69S) and he might stop by.

Randy, assuming these are extra room reservations, I'll take one - whichever is closest to the track for Fri and Sat night.

Jim will be at the 356 East Coast Holiday, in Harbor Springs, so we can twist his arm to come to the BRIC if need be.

Is anyone planning to take the ferry on the way back to MI?
So far, I'm planning in picking up my car from Larry's, so I may be looking for a ride west if anyone is taking the Chicago route and has an empty seat - or I may just fly into Chicago and find my way up to Larry's.

Is there a recommended ticket option for the event? It looks like tickets can be purchased to run our cars on the track for parade laps? Is anyone planning to do this??
