OK guys, things are looking up that I am going to make it. My open date has been pushed out one week so that frees up the RA weekend. It all depends on whether I can get all the details wrapped up in time. Also, gotta check with the other half. Social activity at Randy's would be her thing - watching racing at RA is not.

Scott - check your eMail. We'll be crossing the lake Weds afternoon, staying in Milwaukee Weds night and heading to the Marzano Skunkwerks 1st thing Thurs morning for a quick service stop. Jared, Brian, Dave and Bill (I think) should be there by lunch, then we'll all cruise over to Randy's.

I"m going to go north thru Green Bay and across the UP on US2 Sunday - it's a beautiful drive, about 7 hours to my house. If we wanted to take an extra day, I'd keep heading north to Copper Harbor! I know some roads up there that rival anything.

    Ice Cream Pit Stop

    Curt & Sunday Travelers:

Plan to make a stop in Rapid River, just north of Gladstone, and a very short distance from the tip top of Lake Michigan. There is a tiny Ice Cream stand on the right side of the road in Rapid River which has great ice cream and (so far) the best homemade waffle cones north of the Mason Dixon and east of the Continental Divide. Charlie and I stopped there both coming and going to the 356 Holiday. Every good road trip includes a stop for ice cream......

Yep, Dave and I will pick Jared up from ORD Thurs morning and then head to Larry's.

    Bill,

Are you driving around 'the hell hole", aka Chicago, Thursday morning or are you doing the boat also?

    Jim,

Will we see you and Charlie at Lake Mills on Thursday? Hope so.

    Jared and Brian,
Tracy and I are going to brave the Hell Hole. Do you have any tips or recommended routes?
We'll probably leave Sunday whenever we roll out of bed and eat breakfast.

BTW: here's the official event schedule in PDF format. They're now billing this as the largest vintage racing weekend in the US. http://www.roadamerica.com/kic/kic_info_07.pdf

    Hi Bill,

Could you send me your mobile #? I'll give you call about the route up to Larry's place.
